Jeni Sanders, Treasurer – Artist and Bookkeeper – I am passionate about the Funhouse and the services it provides families and our community. I love the vision behind the creation of the Funhouse as a place for all to find a place to dream explore and be inspired.
Jim Cook, Vice President -Retired Navy Captain (pilot). Last Navy assignment was as Professor and Joint Military Operations Department Chair at the Naval War College in Newport RI.
Meagan Gable, Secretary – Meagan has years of experience working with and advocating for youth and families. She truly believes in the mission at the Funhouse Commons and is excited to contribute to the Orcas community.
Dan Walker has a background in home building and non-profit performing arts production, and has been building anything and everything for the past 20 years. Dan and his family moved to the island in August 2015, and his two kids attend many of the programs at the Funhouse
Krista Bouchey, Executive Director – Krista born and raised in Washington state, earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College. She has worked with the Funhouse since 2010. She has a strong passion in advocating for youth in our community. Krista@thefunhouse.org
Jen Vollmer, Development & Grants Manager- Jen has worked for nonprofits since high school, but has found the most joy working at the Funhouse, serving our supporters and Orcas Island kids since 2007. She has a MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University (Orinda, CA). She lives off the grid with her husband, son, and blind cattle dog. Jen@thefunhouse.org
Emilie Gincig, Program Director- Emilie has lived on Orcas Island for most of her life. She has previously worked at local preschools, and has been at the Funhouse since 2012. She loves working with kids, and loves the Funhouse. Emilie@thefunhouse.org
Sarah McKay, Volunteer & Mentor Coordinator and Afterschool Program Staff- Sarah grew up in Seattle and has spent summers with family on the island since she was a child. She has fond memories of visiting the Funhouse Commons when she was a teenager. Outside of work she has been restoring a historical family home which she lives in with her partner, 3 cats and a dog. Jessie Gonzalez, Afterschool Program Staff- Jessie was born and raised in the Bay Area, CA. She developed an affinity for Orcas Island and the great Northwest as an outdoor program instructor at Camp Orkila. Her passion for working with kids led her towards jobs as a youth rock climbing instructor, preschool teacher and, ultimately, The Funhouse!
Eva Lyons, Afterschool Program Staff- Eva moved to Orcas Island in 2013 from her family fruit farm in New York. After studying both elementary education and environmental biology in college, she went on to work for a wide variety of nonprofits across the country – all with the same goal of educating, supporting and empowering youth. She is very passionate about unstructured play time in nature and environmental education as whole. Eva is very excited to be involved with the wonderful work the Funhouse does and to become more involved in the Orcas community.
